Vencora Business Unit: Job Summary: Reporting into the Senior Manager of Corporate Development, the Business Development Associate will represent the front-end of Vencora's acquisition activities—establishing contacts, building, and nurturing relationships with CEOs and owners of global companies. Our focus is to build a strong portfolio of businesses that are specialists in their own market. What You Will Be Doing Creatively identify leads for vertical market software businesses meeting our strategic criteria and specific metrics. Maintain and build a proprietary database of industry contacts. Develop and conduct prospecting campaigns through digital media, outbound cold calling, email sequences, in-person meetings, and industry events. Consistently make direct outreach to business owners and executives, confidently navigating gatekeepers, and initiating compelling conversations. Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators, and C‑Suite leadership. Gather target company information and qualify opportunities for potential acquisition. Present high‑potential opportunities to the internal M&A team and support progression to NDA or deeper evaluation. Travel to attend tradeshows, prospecting trips, and in‑person meetings as needed (up to 20%). Skills You Will Bring Driven, results‑oriented, and unafraid to pick up the phone. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong business instincts, and a proactive mindset. Motivated by building relationships and sourcing great businesses in a fast‑paced environment. Fluency in English. Excellent academic performance in an undergraduate business degree; a master’s degree from a top‑tier school is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated success with cold calling and outbound prospecting—confident initiating conversations with founders and C‑level executives and know how to get past gatekeepers. 4+ years of experience in a business development, lead generation, or outbound sales role, ideally in a B2B or M&A environment. Ability to manage a pipeline of leads and consistently exceed outreach and engagement targets. Confident in presenting to business owners and executive‑level stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment. Experience in M&A, software, or fintech is considered an asset. Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus. Professional demeanor, excellent time management, and a persistent, independent work ethic. Collaborative spirit with the ability to work across remote teams and cultural backgrounds.
