Position Title and Location Permanent, full-time Senior Occupational Therapist based at Rapua Te Ao Waiora, Papakura (5/19 Great South Road). Remuneration Based on the PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines. Role Overview We are seeking a senior occupational therapist to lead and improve quality of care, equity and health outcomes for Māori and all cultures across the South Adult teams within Counties Manukau Health. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership within the three South Adult teams, supporting high standards of practice and patient care. Develop and deliver clinical capability for colleagues, setting practice standards, and leading quality assurance, improvement, and research activities. Coordinate, deliver, and support professional services in specialist areas linked to occupational therapy, while managing a clinical caseload. Drive quality improvement, service development, and clinical leadership initiatives across all adult teams in the South region. Collaborate with tangata whaiora, their whānau, NGOs, and primary care providers to deliver culturally appropriate services. Qualifications and Experience Registered with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board and hold a current annual practising certificate. Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience as an occupational therapist in mental health and addiction services. Ability to implement culturally appropriate specialised assessment for Māori. Experience leading and supporting quality improvement, clinical teaching and coaching (advantageous). Full NZ driver’s licence with no limitations.
