Critical Care Technician, Nelson Hospital, Permanent Part-time The critical care areas of Nelson Hospital utilise a significant amount of equipment and technologies and this role will be a huge asset to the team for the right person to make their own. About the Role As a Critical Care Technician , you will organise efficient supply, procurement and maintenance of equipment, ensure appropriate stock control management systems and processes are in place, order equipment supplies and liaise with key stakeholders. This is a permanent, part-time role working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), Monday to Friday 7.00 AM to 5.30 PM. There is no on-call. About the Team/Service/Location The Nelson ICCU is a close and supportive team that works well together to provide the best outcomes for the patients and whānau that we care for. We have a nine bed unit that caters to ICU, Coronary Care and High Dependency patients. The successful candidate will also support the Emergency Department and the Cardiac Cath Lab. For more information on living and working in Nelson click here. About you As a Critical Care Technician , you will: Be a strong team player, supportive of colleagues and open to new ideas. Co-operate and liaise with others in a multi-disciplinary setting. Have an awareness of own skills and limitations, knows where and when to seek assistance, and willing to contribute to team meetings. Be able to accept instructions and feedback. Accept and carry responsibility, use initiative and be self-motivated. Be adaptable and flexible—open to change (positive or negative). Have experience as a Technician, preferably within Healthcare, or have New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZQA Level 3). Have a driver's licence. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
