Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our nationwide Service Department. This role is critical to supporting the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of specialised processing and packaging equipment. MULTIVAC is a global leader in processing and packaging solutions, supporting industries including food production, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing. About the Role This is a permanent, full-time position (minimum 40 hours per week). The role requires flexibility, including regular travel, occasional weekend work, and the ability to respond to urgent service requirements. Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and maintain advanced processing and packaging machinery Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, rebuilds, and equipment upgrades Interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics at a component level Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers Deliver operator and maintenance training to customer personnel Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies Maintain accurate service records and reporting Travel throughout New Zealand (and occasionally internationally if required) To be successful in this role, you must have: A current Electrician's Licence, OR a trade qualification as a Fitter/Mechanic with a Restricted Electrical Licence, along with a minimum of 3+ years’ relevant industry experience, ideally including exposure to MULTIVAC, Handtmann, or similar high-speed processing and packaging equipment Proven electronics competency and hand-on experience with PLC-controlled systems Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings at a component level Strong communication and customer service skills A flexible approach, with willingness to travel regularly, work varied hours, and respond to breakdowns at short notice Preferred Experience Experience servicing food processing or packaging equipment Knowledge of motor control systems, servomotors, and drive technologies Background in field service or industrial maintenance environments Salary: NZD$ 85,000-100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications Company vehicle: Fully maintained vehicle provided Tools of trade: Laptop and mobile phone KiwiSaver: Employer contribution of 9% (for eligible employees) Insurance: NZD 400,000 Life and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) cover Salary & Market Alignment The remuneration for this role is aligned with current New Zealand market rates for skilled technical positions.
