Whangarei Art Trust - Finance Trustee Opportunity Whangarei, New Zealand Reference: 6910139 The Whangārei Art Trust is seeking to appoint a new Trustee to its Board, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the governance of one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most distinctive cultural precincts. The Trust oversees the Whangārei Art Museum, the Hundertwasser Art Centre, (with Wairau Māori Art Gallery under a separate Trust). Together, these facilities form an internationally significant arts destination, committed to enriching lives through meaningful experiences of art, culture, and nature. The Whangārei Art Trust is a Council Controlled Organisation and the council appoints the majority of trustees to the board. Council are seeking an individual with a current or previous strong financial and business acumen, who can bring strategic insight and sound governance expertise to the Board. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: Financial management and oversight Governance in the charitable or public sector Funding and grant applications This role may suit someone with an accounting or accountancy background who has time through the day to attend meetings. The successful applicant will demonstrate a collaborative approach and a commitment to supporting the Trust's purpose, working alongside fellow Trustees, staff, Council representatives, and volunteers. This is a voluntary, Council‑appointed position representing the community. The Board currently comprises seven Trustees. Time commitment includes: Monthly Board meetings (approximately 4 hours) on a Monday afternoon each month An additional 2 hours per week for preparation and administrative duties This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the cultural life of Whangārei and support the continued success of a nationally and internationally recognized arts precinct. #J-18808-Ljbffr
