Who we are EDC is a medium‑sized, multi‑disciplinary engineering consultancy offering a wide range of services across structural, civil, geotechnical, and fire disciplines. We’re known for our adaptability, technical excellence, and strong team culture. Based in Auckland, Christchurch, and Whakatāne we work on projects that shape communities across New Zealand. What you’ll do As a Summer Intern, you’ll work alongside our Structural and Geotechnical teams in Christchurch on real projects that make a difference. You’ll be supported by experienced engineers and gain exposure to a variety of tasks that will build your confidence and skills. Your internship will include: Assisting with design, calculations, and reporting Participating in field work and construction monitoring Logging site data and preparing documentation Learning how to apply engineering standards and codes in practice Collaborating with a professional team in a supportive environment What we’re looking for: Currently studying towards an engineering degree (civil, structural, or related) You will be heading into your final year of university in 2027 A quick learner with great attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel A team player with a passion for engineering A full, clean NZ driver’s licence You must have the right to work in New Zealand with no restrictions Why EDC?
