Job Description
Department: Enabling Areas | Information Technology Job Description What will your typical day look like? As a Database Analyst at Deloitte, you will collaborate with internal teams and business units to manage enterprise-level databases and data solutions. In this role, you can expect to: Design and implement databases to support the development of local applications and system integrations. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and support released applications. Performance-tune complex queries to enhance application speed and ensure a seamless experience for end-users. Manage SQL Server databases, ensuring they are optimized, patched, and fully supported. Provide Level 2 and 3 support for database-related issues escalated by the Database Analysts. Perform routine maintenance and manage release deployment activities, including off‑hours support when necessary. Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) efforts, ensuring data integrity through scheduled backups and restoration tasks. Ensure security and compliance for database systems, performing monitoring and logging activities (e.g., index rebuilds, error logs, and security logs). Contribute to Data Warehousing projects, optimizing cloud data infrastructure and implementing ETL processes. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure effective utilization of data warehouse architecture. Take ownership of major incidents, resolving escalated issues in a timely and effective manner. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations and database-related processes. Qualifications Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full‑time IT role, with expertise in database administration and data management. Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure PaaS SQL, and data warehousing concepts. Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and SSRS. Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, and data normalization. Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD automation practices. Experience with Power BI and SSAS Tabular for data reporting and analytics. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database‑related issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
