The Role We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Share Registrar & Legal Executive to join our Legal team. Based in either Invercargill or Christchurch, this is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the business, providing governance, legal and administrative support while helping ensure the smooth operation of key shareholder and statutory processes. You'll work closely with the General Counsel and Company Secretary, Legal Team, senior leaders, Board members and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, you'll be responsible for maintaining Alliance Cooperative's Share Register while providing high-level governance, legal and administrative support to the General Counsel and Company Secretary. You'll play an important role in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, supporting governance activities, and enabling the efficient operation of the corporate office. This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Maintaining the Share Register and statutory registers, ensuring information is accurate, compliant and up to date. Coordinating governance and company secretarial activities, including Board meetings, Board papers and the Annual General Meeting. Supporting shareholder communications and stakeholder engagement activities. Assisting with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements. Maintaining trademark records in partnership with the Legal Team. Providing professional administrative and document management support to the Company Secretary and Legal Team. Building effective working relationships across the business and with external stakeholders. Contributing to the smooth running of the corporate office and supporting governance and compliance obligations. About You You'll be a highly organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional support. Comfortable working with confidential information, you'll bring strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You'll Also Have Experience providing high-level administrative support to senior leaders or executives. Proven ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Exceptional organisational skills and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. Experience within a governance, legal, company secretarial or corporate office environment preferred. A qualification in legal studies, business administration, governance or a related field preferred. A New Zealand Diploma in Legal Executive Studies (Level 6), or equivalent qualification, would be advantageous. What’s in it for you?
