Software Engineer - Fixed Term

About the Role We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our high‑performing team in Christchurch on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis to cover parental leave. As the Software Engineer, you will work across a variety of software stacks, develop with the latest Microsoft cloud technology, and have the opportunity to work on a range of projects. Key Responsibilities Lead agile methodology adoption and implementation across the development lifecycle to optimise productivity and delivery. Partner with delivery leads to shape and clarify feature requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Translate technical designs into clear tasks and lead their implementation. Develop, enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deployment processes. Lead the design and development of new features and products, ensuring high code quality and alignment with product goals. Maintain and improve systems, diagnosing, resolving and preventing defects to maintain stability and performance. Review, maintain and improve existing codebases to enhance quality and performance. Leverage GitHub Copilot and other AI‑powered engineering tools to accelerate workflows and improve code quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. Experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, API, Microservices, Azure, DevOps, SQL, ReactJS (or similar). Strong communication skills; capable of explaining concepts clearly. Passionate about learning and delivering high‑quality business applications.
