Job Description
Overview Public Defence Service (PDS) at our North Shore office in Albany seeks a motivated and experienced criminal litigator to serve as Lawyer PAL1. Reporting to a Legal team Manager, you will deliver high quality defence representation, manage a varied caseload of criminal matters, and provide support to intermediate and senior lawyers. Responsibilities Deliver high quality defence representation to legally aided clients. Manage a varied caseload of criminal matters. Provide support to intermediate and senior lawyers. Qualifications Pal 1 approval level and qualification to practice law in New Zealand. Confidence in developing credibility with judges, peers and others in the legal community. Passion for criminal justice issues with the ability to share legal expertise, exchange ideas and brainstorm. Empathy and the ability to relate to a wide range of people.
