Job Description
Overview As the Senior Data & Commercial Analyst, you’ll sit close to pricing strategy, using data and modelling to bring clarity to complex questions and support the choices that shape performance. You will work across pricing, data, and broader business teams to develop insights, test scenarios, and provide recommendations that help guide direction in a competitive and fast‑moving environment. Responsibilities Build and run models that support pricing decisions and broader commercial strategy. Analyse data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities that inform business direction. Develop competitor and market insights to help shape how we respond externally. Prepare clear, structured packs and recommendations to support decision‑making forums. Partner with stakeholders across pricing, data, and the wider business to translate insights into action. Contribute to pricing cycles by supporting the analysis and modelling behind key decisions. About You You’re someone who enjoys working with data but is equally comfortable stepping into commercial conversations. You know how to connect the detail to the bigger picture, and you take pride in helping others understand what the data is really saying. You bring a balance of analytical strength and clear thinking, with the confidence to share your perspective and influence decisions. Strong analytical capability, with experience in SQL, Python, Excel, and visualisation tools such as Power BI. Experience building models and using data to support commercial or strategic decisions. The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Confidence preparing and presenting recommendations to a range of stakeholders. A commercial mindset, with interest in pricing, performance, and market dynamics. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and guide conversations. Comfort working in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments with competing priorities. A proactive, curious approach, always looking to improve how insights are generated and applied. Additional Information You’ll be working in a space where priorities can shift and where balancing depth of analysis with pace is important. Your ability to cut through complexity and guide decisions will be key to your impact. We support flexible working where it works for the individual, the team, and the business. The main hubs are in Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga; this role is best suited to someone who can work flexibly from one of these locations to enable strong in‑person connection and collaboration. Proximity to a main hub is important for this role. We also offer a range of benefits including free health insurance cover, boosted KiwiSaver, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail‑blazing parental leave policy, and twice yearly payments towards our products if you’re a Contact customer. Please note, only candidates with the right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered for this role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
