Job Description

We’re looking for a Construction Cadet to join the Aoraki team delivering a strong pipeline of diverse commercial projects in the Wellington Region. We run a structured construction cadet training framework that gives you the opportunity to learn and absorb the ins and outs of commercial construction across multiple facets from site management to project management, development planning, estimating and quantity surveying. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in the construction industry while gaining hands‑on experience. We’re looking for someone who will get stuck in and run with the opportunities that this role offers. You will be involved in: Assisting Project Managers and Site Managers with day‑to‑day project delivery. Coordinating project documentation, drawings, and site information. Supporting programme tracking and subcontractor coordination. Assisting with procurement, variations, and project administration. Monitoring health & safety and quality processes on site. Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Your attitude will include: High levels of integrity and honesty. Be self‑driven, motivated and willing to learn. Be open and respectful of others, and able to communicate with everyone and anyone. Highly organised. Able to bring enthusiasm and a positive attitude while performing your role. You will have ideally have: Experience in the construction industry or relevant tertiary study. Knowledge of construction processes. And ideally an understanding of the Wellington local construction environment.
