Job Description
Clinical Nurse Manager – Chemotherapy & Day Stay Unit – Rotorua and Taupō Hospitals Lead a specialist chemotherapy service across two Lakes district sites, shaping high‑quality, culturally responsive cancer care. This role is based in a permanent, full‑time position (1.0FTE) within Health NewZealand | Te WhatuOra Lakes. About the Role As Clinical Nurse Manager, Chemotherapy, you will lead and coordinate the day‑to‑day management of staff, clinical activity and resources for the Chemotherapy Service across Rotorua and Taupō. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical oversight and delegated responsibility for specialised oncology nursing practice. Lead clinical governance: peer review, incident management, audits and quality improvement. Coordinate rostering, workload allocation and resource management across two sites. Lead workforce development, competency assessment and credentialing for chemotherapy administration. Build strong relationships with Waikato oncologists, pharmacy and community providers to support integrated care. Qualifications Registered Nurse with current NCNZ Annual Practising Certificate. Relevant graduate and postgraduate qualification; post‑graduate study in nursing or management achieved or in progress. Minimum 10years post‑registration with at least 5years recent medical nursing experience. Demonstrated operational management or leadership experience in a clinical setting. Competent with Microsoft Office and clinical information systems. Experience implementing TeTiriti oWaitangi in practice and commitment to equity‑focused care. Desirable: postgraduate diploma or working towards a master’s; oncology/haematology specialty experience and evidence of ongoing professional development.
