Casual Event Medic – Wellington Free Ambulance We are proud to be the only fully free paramedic service operating in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa. Overview Our Event Medics provide high‑quality pre‑hospital emergency care at a wide range of events across Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, from major sports and concerts to local fairs. The role supports frontline crews during emergencies and requires commitment to training and attendance at events. Responsibilities Provide pre‑hospital emergency care in accordance with clinical and operational procedures. Complete accurate documentation of incidents and treatments. Assist frontline crews during emergency incidents at events. Attend all scheduled training sessions and driver assessment dates as required. Qualifications & Requirements Current First Aid certificate aligned with unit standard 6400 and one of the following sets: 6401 & 6402 or 26551 & 26552 or equivalent. Availability to attend training dates: 19‑20 Sept, 26‑27 Sept, 3‑4 Oct, 10‑11 Oct, 17‑18 Oct. Driving assessment dates to be arranged; a full driver’s licence held for minimum 2 years and defensive driving certificate within last 3 years if driving component is desired. Physical fitness to lift and meet role demands. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Calm under pressure, sound decision‑making, teamwork and leadership qualities. Commitment to attend a minimum of 3 events per 3‑month rolling period and 16 hours of training over two years. Pre‑employment health check, including drug and alcohol test, is required because the role is safety‑sensitive.
