Job Description
About the job We’re looking for experienced NetworkServicepeople to help maintain and repair our water, stormwater and wastewater networks across the Thames–Coromandel District for a fixed‑term period between 3‑6 months. We have Three vacancies located: x1 in Thames x1 in Whitianga x1 in Whangamata The role involves A mix of reactive and scheduled work, ensuring our systems operate efficiently. Actively install, repair or maintain water reticulation networks. Inspect and assess faults, plan the best response, and carry out repair work. Operate tools and machinery safely (training provided). Support with backflow preventer installations and flushing to maintain water quality. What you’ll need New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance with Drinking Water Strand) Level 4 or equivalent is required. 1‑2 years’ experience working in the Water Maintenance Industry and previous Water Reticulation experience is also required. Experience in the Water Maintenance Industry is desirable. Ability and willingness to participate in the on‑call and standby roster. Physically fit, health and safety focused, able to work well in a team as well as independently. A full class 1 licence and ability to drive a manual is also essential. All preferred candidates will be required to complete pre‑employment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
