Job Description
We are currently seeking two to three experienced General Practitioners to join our supportive and collaborative team at the University of Auckland’s Student Health Service. Key Responsibilities Providing skilled health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services in line with current best practice and professional standards Delivering patient‑centred care that supports both physical and mental wellbeing Working collaboratively with nurses, counsellors, and other health professionals to provide integrated care Managing referrals, documentation, follow‑up care, and case management in a timely and professional manner Supporting preventative health initiatives, including screening programmes, vaccinations, and health education Providing travel health advice and vaccinations where required Assessing aegrotat applications and providing appropriate academic health advocacy Building strong relationships with internal and external healthcare providers and referral agencies The salary range for these roles is $179,800 to $211,500 per annum prorated, depending on experience and qualifications. These are permanent positions, and we are flexible with hours — we welcome applications from both full‑time and part‑time practitioners, depending on your availability. Required Qualifications and Experience Registration as a medical practitioner in New Zealand with a current NZMC Practising Certificate and indemnity insurance Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners At least two years’ experience in General Practice, ideally including primary or emergency care Current CPR or Advanced Life Support certification Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment Proven experience working with young adults and diverse communities Confidence using clinical systems such as MedTech or similar practice management software Experience working within a university or student‑focused health service would be an advantage but is not essential.
