Job Description
We are partnering with a highly respected global technology services organisation to secure several Azure Cloud Operations Engineers for a large-scale enterprise cloud environment based in Auckland. This is an opportunity to join a high‑performing cloud platform team supporting complex Azure environments, cloud transformation initiatives, and ongoing migration activities within a large enterprise setting. We’re looking for engineers who enjoy getting hands‑on, solving problems, automating repetitive tasks, and supporting production cloud platforms. This is not an architecture‑only role; we’re seeking practical engineers who can quickly become productive and contribute from day one. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting and maintaining enterprise Azure environments Assisting with cloud migration and modernisation initiatives Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions Troubleshooting production issues and supporting operational activities Contributing to platform reliability, performance and security Working closely with internal engineering teams and stakeholders Supporting automation, continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives Participating in an on‑call support roster What We’re Looking For Essential Experience Strong hands‑on Azure infrastructure experience across: Networking Security Compute Storage Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform Azure DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation Experience supporting production cloud environments Strong troubleshooting and incident management capability Experience working within enterprise‑scale environments Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Highly Desirable Azure migration or cloud transformation experience Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) PowerShell, Azure CLI or Python scripting Azure governance and landing zone experience Monitoring and observability tooling Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices Managed services or large enterprise support environments Personal Attributes Strong problem‑solving mindset Self‑sufficient and proactive Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment Collaborative and team‑oriented Passionate about automation and continuous improvement Eager to learn and adopt modern engineering practices What’s On Offer Initial 6‑month contract (highly likely to extend) Multiple positions available Auckland‑based opportunity Hybrid working environment Opportunity to work on large‑scale Azure transformation and cloud operations initiatives Exposure to modern cloud engineering practices and technologies Potential for extension beyond the initial contract term Eligibility Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
