Fabricator/Welder, Stainless & Aluminium If you're equally at home TIG welding stainless as you are fabricating aluminium from engineering drawings, we've got a role worth looking at. Tradestaff is recruiting on behalf of one of our well-respected engineering clients for an experienced Fabricator/Welder who takes genuine pride in quality workmanship. We're looking for someone who can think for themselves, work to a high standard, and confidently fabricate and weld both stainless steel and aluminium. Pay Rate: $32.00 to $42.00 per hour (on wages), depending on your experience, references, and tooling. This is a hands‑on role working in a modern workshop alongside a skilled team. You'll be involved in producing high‑quality stainless steel and aluminium components for a range of commercial and industrial projects. From time to time, there may also be opportunities to travel for on‑site installation work around New Zealand. When these projects arise, all transport, accommodation, and generous daily allowances will be provided. We're looking for tradespeople who can hit the ground running, confidently read engineering drawings, and consistently produce work they're proud to put their name to. What you'll be doing Fabricating and welding stainless steel and aluminium components. Reading and interpreting engineering and workshop drawings. Measuring, cutting, folding, grinding, fitting, and assembling materials. Producing high‑quality TIG and MIG welds. Completing fabrication work to tight tolerances and quality standards. Carrying out basic maintenance of workshop equipment and tools. Working safely while contributing to a productive workshop environment. Occasionally travelling to site for installation work when required. What we're looking for Proven fabrication and welding experience with both stainless steel and aluminium. Strong TIG welding skills, with MIG experience also required. Confidence fabricating directly from engineering drawings. Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship. A good range of your own trade tools. The more self‑sufficient you are, the better. Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team. Reliable, motivated, and committed to health and safety. Full Class 1 driver's licence and reliable transport. Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
