The role | Te tūnga Join the Department of Internal Affairs and play a key role in supporting critical digital services that New Zealanders rely on every day. As a DevOps Engineer you’ll lead the delivery of Azure platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, integration services, and operational reliability for the CCMS platform. Working in a highly skilled team, you'll design and build Azure-based solutions, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement infrastructure as code, improve observability and monitoring, and provide technical leadership across complex enterprise environments. We're looking for an experienced DevOps professional with strong Azure engineering expertise, hands‑on development skills (C#, Python or similar), and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. Strong Azure platform engineering experience, including cloud‑native services, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Experience delivering secure, reliable, and highly integrated cloud solutions using modern engineering practices. Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver great outcomes. A continuous improvement mindset, with strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for mentoring others and sharing knowledge.
