2027 Training Year: Advanced Trainee Registrar / Senior Registrar (General O&G & Fertility) Locations: Te Whatu Ora Waitemata & Fertility Associates (Auckland Region) Commencement: From February 2027. 12 months term. The Opportunity We are seeking a motivated Senior Registrar to join our unique dual‑placement program designed for those keen to advance their expertise in fertility management or pursue the Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). This 1.0 FTE position offers a distinctive training pathway, splitting your time between high‑acuity public obstetrics/gynaecology at Te Whatu Ora Waitemata (0.7 FTE) and specialized fertility services at Fertility Associates (0.3 FTE). You will spend approximately 12 days per week at Fertility Associates, gaining hands‑on experience in fertility management, while maintaining a robust general registrar roster in the public sector. Key Highlights Dual‑Pathway Training: Structured support for RANZCOG advanced training and CREI certification under the guidance of leading experts. Comprehensive Clinical Scope: Participate in acute O&G emergencies, theatre lists, and infertility procedures including Embryo Transfer (ET), Oocyte Pick‑Up (OPU), and related microsurgery observation. Dedicated Education: Protected time allocated for ultrasound training, research projects, and weekly teaching sessions. Clinical Governance: Engage in departmental meetings, M&M reviews, case audits, and journal clubs to sharpen your clinical reasoning. Supportive Environment: Work within a clear credentialing framework with regular formative and summative appraisals alongside experienced consultants. Essential Requirements Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). Eligibility for RANZCOG advanced training. Proven clinical competence as a Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Strong commitment to both general O&G practice and subspecialty fertility medicine.
