Job Description

Ingrained Timber Ltd has been manufacturing and remanufacturing timber products in Otorohanga since 1932. We’re a locally owned company, known for our safety standards, workmanship, and family-based team culture. We specialise in high-grade wood products for domestic and export markets. We operate a modern machining facility and are seeking a qualified or experienced Timber Machinist to join our team. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor specialised woodworking machinery used to cut, plane, shape, or profile solid timber products Select, install, and adjust tooling and machine settings to meet production specifications Monitor machining accuracy, tolerances, and surface finish during production runs Interpret production requirements and timber specifications to ensure correct output Identify and rectify minor machine faults and make operational adjustments Carry out quality control checks on machined timber products Complete basic production and quality records Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements Key Requirements At least 2 years of experience or Level 3 qualification Other Requirements Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Reliability and good work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Physically fit The ability to work in a fast‑paced environment Detail oriented Two‑shift operation: day shift and night shift (night shift: 2:30 pm – 12:00 am) Minimum hours of work per week: 30 Regular hours of work per week: 45 Maximum hours of work per week: 50 PPE and ongoing training provided Why Join Us Secure, long‑term employment with a respected New Zealand timber manufacturer Modern equipment, safe facilities, and supportive team culture Opportunities to progress within our operation #J-18808-Ljbffr
