Consultant Radiologist (Casual) – Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth About the Role Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki is seeking a casual general radiologist to work in our department at Taranaki Base Hospital. You will work as part of a dynamic team with radiologists and a wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to diagnostic excellence for the community of Taranaki and the wider New Zealand community through data and digital connectivity. Key Responsibilities Reporting on general plain film, ultrasound, CT and MRI studies. Providing interventional work and angiography as required. Delivering fluoroscopy and other imaging services to support patient care. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to achieve high‑quality outcomes. Clinical Modalities General X‑ray CT MRI Interventional work (incl. angiography) Ultrasound Nuclear Medicine Fluoroscopy Qualifications & Experience Essential skills: general plain film, ultrasound, CT and MRI reporting. Desirable sub‑specialty interests: musculoskeletal MRI; general interventional radiology (no intracranial work); CT colonography; cardiac CT; or nuclear medicine. Vocational registration from the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for registration through recognised postgraduate qualifications from another country. Additional Information All modalities are state of the art, with CT, MRI and ultrasound upgraded in 2022. An integrated regional RIS/PACS is in use.
