We are seeking a motivated Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join our friendly and supportive team in a full-time permanent role. This opportunity would suit either a newly qualified specialist or an experienced consultant with broad generalist skills. There are also excellent opportunities for those with an interest in teaching, service development or research. About the Service Our Obstetrics service provides comprehensive primary and secondary inpatient and outpatient care across the MidCentral district, including: Obstetric ultrasound services Multidisciplinary antenatal diabetic clinics Secondary maternity care across the region The neonatal unit accepts babies from 28 weeks gestation, and there are approximately 2,000 births annually across the district. Primary birthing units are located in Palmerston North, Levin and Dannevirke. Colposcopy Urogynaecology Fertility services Hysteroscopy clinics Inpatient and outpatient gynaecological care Consultants also provide outreach clinics at Horowhenua Health Centre (Levin), Feilding and Dannevirke. We have excellent access to recently upgraded operating theatres and are excited to welcome a surgical robot later this year. The successful applicant will participate in the on-call roster, supported by 24/7 registrar and house officer cover. The unit is accredited for both core and advanced RANZCOG trainees. About You To be eligible for this role you must: Hold, or be eligible for, vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Have a specialist qualification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology recognised by RANZCOG for vocational registration in New Zealand Have excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary team skills Be committed to high quality patient‑centred care About the Location Manawatū is known for its effortless blend of city and rural living; here you can choose your ideal lifestyle, from peaceful rural villages, to bustling townships, or city life.
