Assistant Shop Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. This is a key support role where you’ll step in as second-in-charge (2IC) when the Shop Manager is away. You’ll help keep our shops running smoothly, looking their best, and delivering warm, welcoming customer experiences. In the absence of the Shop Manager, you’ll take the lead—delegating tasks, driving sales performance, and ensuring a safe and positive working environment for the team. In this role you will: Utilise your solid cash management and till management experience Assist with shop presentation/displays Confidently engage with customer from all walks of life Undertake stock management/preparation and control as per training Support volunteers’ adherence to our Health, Safety and Wellbeing practice Our Taupo Shop is a busy shop attracting a wide variety of customers including locals, holidaymakers, tourists and event goers. We are looking for someone who brings great energy, a positive attitude and has a keen eye for visual merchandising, to help create an engaging shopping experience for our diverse customer base.
