Alpine Civil is steadily growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to lead our site crews and help deliver high-quality civil projects across Central Otago. This is a great opportunity for a capable and practical leader who knows how to keep work moving, maintain strong standards, and get the best out of a team. You’ll play a key role in coordinating site activities, supporting project delivery, and leading from the front. If you’re motivated, hands‑on, and take pride in ensuring projects are delivered to a high quality while upholding safe working standards, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise civil construction team on site, coordinate daily tasks, labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers to be efficient and effective in undertaking the project on site. Monitor progress, productivity, and daily site activities, maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance. Reading and working from plans and specifications. Work closely and communicate effectively with Project Managers, clients, consultants, and the public to ensure smooth project delivery. Identify and resolve site issues in a practical and timely manner. Maintain efficient workflow, productivity, and a strong standard of workmanship on site; ensure all works are completed in line with health and safety, quality, and compliance requirements. What you will bring to the team Proven ability to lead or supervise civil construction crews to complete projects – a sense of ownership. A solution‑focused mindset for when issues arise. Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, materials, and equipment. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills for the project. Full Class 1 driver license; Class 2, WTR, Traffic Management or First Aid qualifications are advantageous. Confidence using software e.g. Microsoft Office, and site documentation systems. Good knowledge of health and safety, quality, and industry best practice. What's on offer? Competitive pay.
