Job Description

The Role Reporting to the Programme Director, this Senior Project Accountant role sits within a major transformation programme focused on reviewing and enhancing essential operational services. You will provide strategic financial leadership across the full project lifecycle, ensuring strong financial management, accurate reporting, and commercially sound decision-making. This role partners closely with the programme team and senior stakeholders, contributing to business cases, funding strategies, and governance reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring financial transparency, supporting informed decisions, and driving successful programme outcomes. Role Requirements 5+ years of project accounting experience within a large, complex organisation Experience supporting infrastructure or capital‑intensive programmes CA or equivalent professional qualification preferred Strong understanding of NZ IFRS or public sector accounting standards Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Experience contributing to business cases and investment decision processes Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly High attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Experience with large ERP or finance systems advantageous A collaborative approach and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams What’s in it for You?
