Job Description
Overview We are seeking experienced nurses to work in our busy and growing theatre department. Role Details Registered Nurse offers safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to our patients. This is a permanent role offered at 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), worked on a rotating roster, Monday to Friday. The role supports end‑of‑day shifts with shift lengths of up to 10 hours. Responsibilities Provide optimum patient care in accordance with Mercy Hospital Shared Purpose and Values. Practice in accordance with the Domains of Competence for the Registered Nurse. Work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively. Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate. Required Experience and Skills Previous experience working in a theatre environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Good level of computer literacy. High degree of self‑motivation, willingness, and self‑responsibility to continually improve and remain current with nursing skills and knowledge. High levels of professionalism with an enthusiastic, proactive, flexible approach. Registration or enrolment with the Nursing Council of New Zealand pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 and a current practising certificate. Additional Information It would be advantageous for applicants to have prior experience in a theatre environment, but we are willing to provide training and support for someone with the interest to upskill.
