Te Haeata/The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Advisor – Property Policy & Guidelines to join the Strategy, Planning and Performance team within the Ministry of Justice Property group. In this strategic role, you'll lead the development of property policies, design guidelines, and contribute to the long-term planning of our national portfolio—including courthouses. You'll work with senior leaders, the Judiciary, iwi, and government partners to deliver consistent, future-focused property guidance and policies. Strategic advisory role Influence nationwide infrastructure Work collaboratively across the Ministry Make a tangible impact on Ministry of Justice property You'll play a key role in our forward planning—helping ensure our buildings and infrastructure are fit for the future and supports the needs of the justice system and the communities we serve. Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience We're looking for someone with a blend of strategic thinking, technical understanding, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. Skills & Experience Self-motivated and pro-active Strong technical writing skills Strong analytical skills and ability to turn complex information into clear insights Experience developing policies, standards, and guidelines Proven ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders Have an understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular tikanga Māori Experience working in the public sector Highly desirable Experience in property, infrastructure, architecture, planning, or policy advisory roles Knowledge of property design, asset management, or building specifications No candidate will meet every single desired qualification. Utu ā-tau/Salary The appointing salary for this role will be between $99,208 and $127,683 based on skills and experience.
