Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Department

Location Wairarapa Hospital Service Acute Services About the Role An exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the Wairarapa Emergency Department Team. In this role you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in order to enhance patient treatment and care planning for patients within the Emergency Department. This is delivered within an interdisciplinary model that best meets patient requirements and aligns with the vision and values of Wairarapa District. The Emergency Nurse Practitioner team practices independently and collaboratively to utilise advanced health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment implementation in both adult and paediatric patients. This work helps reduce waiting times and Emergency Department length of stay, and increases patient satisfaction for those presenting to the department. The role also provides clinical expertise and leadership to optimise patient outcomes and develop effective models of care through quality initiatives, teaching, and mentoring. About you You have a New Zealand Registered Nurse Practitioner qualification, including registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate. You have recent clinical experience in an emergency care setting. You possess current knowledge of issues within nursing and acute care nursing, and have a sound understanding of medico‑legal and ethical responsibilities.
