Healthcare Assistant Hawera Hauora Practice, Permanent Full Time (1.0FTE) – join our supportive rural general practice where your contribution strengthens patient care and helps improve outcomes. Role Overview The Healthcare Assistant plays a key supporting role within our rural general practice, working alongside clinicians to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Responsibilities Assist clinicians with preparing patients for consultations, perform basic observations, support health promotion activities, and help ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the practice. Contribute to improving access, efficiency, and overall patient experience while providing compassionate care to enrolled patients. Qualifications Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level4 is preferred. Experience working in a healthcare or primary care setting is preferred. Willingness to work at Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora. Team and Location South Taranaki Rural Health General Practice, located at Hāwera Hospital. Modern service run by a team of senior skilled clinicians including general practitioners, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, and rural/urgent care doctors.
