# Programme Facilitator - Kaikohe Community Corrections at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections), Northland (Te Tai Tokerau)## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Ngā kawenga | About the role**Our Programme Facilitators come from different backgrounds, cultures, education and experience – but they all share the ability to motivate and work alongside others to support them to make positive changes in their lives. We are currently seeking interest from people who enjoy working collaboratively, are open to feedback and interested in their own development, are passionate about changing thinking, providing guidance and walking alongside those in our care to explore and educate as they walk their journey of rehabilitation.Programme facilitators deliver intensive, therapeutic programmes to offenders serving sentences in the community or in prison. The programmes aim to encourage participants to take responsibility for their offending, promote self-efficacy and motivation towards positive change. The role includes planning and preparing programme sessions, report writing and admin, monitoring progress to enable optimal participation and effective learning and collaboration with internal stakeholders.This is a fixed-term 12-month position through until 30 June 2027.**He kōrero mōu | About you**You will be someone who enjoys working with people and are committed to assisting others to gain insight into their harmful behaviours and connected challenges. It is a role for someone who wants to facilitate change through questioning and guiding. This is not a role for someone who just wants to direct, instruct, or teach people. You will need to be resilient, collaborative and an excellent listener.You will also need to enjoy giving and receiving feedback, being reflective about your practice and be open to the challenges involved in embracing your own development and working in a prison setting.Please ensure your CV and cover letter address the key competences and responsibilities of the role and your alignment to our values and our strategy Hōkai Rangi.**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**We are seeking people who:* Are effective listeners and communicators and who can build strong positive relationships with participants, colleagues and other stakeholders* Have experience in delivering and facilitating therapeutic interventions, individual or, ideally, group therapy* Have life experience and skills to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and ethnic groups* Have knowledge, or are willing to learn about Maori & Pacifica culture, protocols and peoples and apply kaupapa Māori practice in their work* Are comfortable having their practice viewed and receptive in receiving and utilising regular feedback on their practice* Have competence in report-writing* Have a full NZ Drivers Licence**Ngā painga | The benefits**The full salary range is **$71,695 - $90,276**.
