Area Manager

About the role Area Manager at Smith&Smith - Lower South Island Region. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will oversee operations of corporate service locations, mobile and authorised dealers in Lower South Island (Dunedin, Invercargill, Oamaru, Queenstown). You will hire, train, and develop effective teams, implement Belron standards, work cross‑functionally to achieve success, and be ultimately accountable for driving brand awareness and increasing profitability within your territory. Location: Smith&Smith Dunedin. Hours: 40 hours per week (07:00am-07:00pm, Monday to Friday). Key responsibilities • Oversee the operations of multiple branches, ensuring operational and commercial success.• Foster strong relationships and manage diverse teams across geographies.• Deliver business excellence and continuous improvement.• Provide a first‑class customer experience – account or sales management experience preferred.• Lead and influence teams, maintaining brand standards across all sites. Requirements Seasoned in managing multiple branches with a keen eye for operational and commercial success. Experienced in fostering strong relationships and managing diverse teams across geographies. Demonstrated experience in delivering business excellence and continuous improvement. Customer focused with a commitment to delivering a first‑class experience (account‑ or sales‑management experience preferred). Strong people management, team leadership and influencing skills. Passion for Smith&Smith’s mission to keep Kiwis safe on the road, at home and at work. Ability to travel frequently. A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence. Unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand. Willingness to complete a drug and alcohol pre‑employment test as part of the selection process.
