We are looking for a qualified, experienced guide who wants to be part of building something real from the ground up — where the pedagogy is fully respected and the children come first. School overview Mixed-age group, ages 6–9 years 4 days per week (Monday–Thursday, 9am–3pm), including one Nature Day outdoors Hosted at the Ōkaihau Whānau House, a registered charitable trust in Ōkaihau, Northland Existing Montessori preschool in Kerikeri provides a strong local Montessori foundation Plan to transition to a registered charter school in 2027 Newly qualifying candidates are welcome International applicants are welcome — New Zealand has clear visa pathways for overseas teachers Candidate profile AMI 6–12 diploma (essential) Experience with mixed‑age primary groups Genuinely committed to authentic Montessori practice Self‑starter, comfortable in a start‑up environment Open to relocating to New Zealand Key responsibilities Prepare and maintain a rich, authentic Montessori environment Guide individualized learning for each child within the 6–9 cycle Collaborate with families and the coordinating parent group Contribute to building the culture and structure of the school from the ground up Visa information for international applicants New Zealand has a teacher shortage and actively supports overseas teacher registration.
