Job Description

Auckland Council’s Health, Safety & Wellbeing Team is offering a permanent, full‑time opportunity for an Advisor – Hauora and Wellbeing who will work in a hybrid setting (three days in the office and travel across the region). The role supports internal staff and leaders by providing crisis support, pastoral care, and wellbeing initiatives that align with our Whanake Ora Hauora Wellbeing Strategy FY2025–2028. Responsibilities Provide immediate post‑incident or crisis support, identify impacted staff, and refer to external specialist services. Deliver in‑house kaitiakitanga, manaaki, and tautoko pastoral care and wellbeing support. Question and improve processes to align intentions and delivery with meaningful programmes of work. Support the design, navigation, and delivery of hauora initiatives aligned with the Whanake Ora Hauora Wellbeing Strategy FY2025–2028. Qualifications A relevant tertiary degree in social work, psychology or equivalent lived work experience. At least 3 years’ experience in mental health and wellbeing within large, complex, and diverse organisations. Demonstrable experience delivering mental health and wellbeing strategies in large organisational settings. Membership to a relevant professional body such as NZISM, Workplace Wellbeing Professionals Association or similar. Sound understanding of Te Ao Māori, with the ability to apply te reo Māori, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori to effectively communicate and inform wellbeing practice, underpinned by Te Whare Tapa Whā. Benefits Salary range: $88,000 – $97,000 depending on experience and skillset. Additional Kiwisaver contribution on top of base salary.
