Job Description
About the role We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician to join our Rotorua based team. This hands‑on role involves the manufacture, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis of hydraulic and mechanical systems, both on customer sites and in the workshop. You will work across a range of hydraulic equipment and systems, delivering high quality technical solutions while maintaining strong safety and customer service standards. Key responsibilities Diagnose, service and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems and components Repair, assemble, test and commission hydraulic equipment Fault find hydraulic systems with or without schematics Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings, including open and closed loop systems Manufacture and install hydraulic hoses, pipes and tubing, ensuring correct sizing, flow capacity and compatibility Test valves, cylinders, pumps and motors using appropriate test equipment Safely operate and service accumulators and hydraulic test rigs Complete job cards, timesheets and service documentation accurately Liaise professionally with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction Support planned maintenance, condition monitoring and asset management activities Work in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety requirements Skills and experience Proven experience as a Hydraulic Service Technician, Mechanical Fitter or similar trade role Strong knowledge of major brand hydraulic components Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Relevant trade qualification (or at least 3 years’ relevant industry experience) Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Customer‑focused and able to work independently or as part of a team What we offer Permanent, full-time employment in Rotorua Competitive hourly rate of $40 - $46, aligned with skills and experience Opportunities to work on varied and interesting hydraulic systems A strong safety first culture The successful applicant must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand at the time of commencement Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing applies #J-18808-Ljbffr
