Job Description Production Technician Permanent, full-time role with competitive remuneration and benefits Location: Wellington - Upper Hutt, New Zealand Career growth: Expand your expertise in a growing, successful industry Professional development: Gain valuable experience in a dynamic, evolving role The primary responsibility of the Production Technician is to perform day-to-day operations in various areas within the manufacturing department, ensuring antigen and/or vaccine is produced to required standards to meet customer demand in global markets. The Production Technician sits within the Global Animal Health Manufacturing organisation and reports to Production Manager. What You Will Do Responsibilities include, however not limited to: Manufacture antigen and/or vaccine to required standards, according to set production schedules by: Operating equipment in accordance with SOPs Performing tasks and processes in accordance with SOPs Documenting all tasks in batch records, worksheets or logs in accordance with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) Maintaining good housekeeping Planning daily workload Communicating clearly and in a timely way with other members of the Manufacturing Team and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of product, samples and documentation Perform on-the-job training for other technicians in areas of expertise Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Minimize deviations in the manufacture of products by: Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with SOPs Using knowledge of processes and problem‑solving techniques to thoroughly investigate and determine root cause of deviations Identifying Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) to eliminate further deviations occurring Completing deviation reports in a timely manner Implementing agreed Corrective and Preventative Actions within required timeframes Documentation Responsibilities Maintain all documentation in accordance with Company and relevant quality standards Review and update documentation such as SOPs, batch records, worksheets to ensure GMP standards continue to be met Author or review assigned SOPs and documentation in required timeframes Implement changes to production documents and processes in accordance with agreed change proposals What You Must have Science degree or equivalent preferred Experience in a manufacturing environment Understanding of GMP Computer Skills: Spreadsheet, Word, SAP What You Can Expect Work autonomously whilst being supported, encouraged and being part of a trusted Global Leading Animal Health organisation Exposure to upskill and develop in your role Flexibility and opening doors to other opportunities and skillsets Joining a collaborative team of like‑minded individuals We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive workplace.
