Occupational Therapy Services, Dargaville Hospital. Permanent, part-time position (0.9FTE) working 36 hours per week. About the Role As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide services across community, adult rehab and mental health/recovery settings. You will support both inpatients and outpatients, helping individuals to meet their needs, promoting independence, safety, self-determination, and the wellbeing of individuals and families. This role will be based at Dargaville Hospital, working between Monday and Friday. Travel throughout the area is required. About the Team / Service / Location Dargaville Hospital provides hospital-level and community care to the people of Kaipara. Services include a 12-bed general ward and an 8-bed detoxification ward with various allied and community health services as well as other health providers available. About you Registered Occupational Therapist with a current NZ practising certificate. Current NZ full driver's licence. Equipment Assessors accreditation. Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary team. Good working knowledge of emotional and social issues as they relate to individuals, their families and the wider community. Excellent communication skills. Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth. Experience in projects / initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings. Previous experience within a rural health setting would be preferable; however, if you have less experience but a lot of interest, we would love to hear from you!
