About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sonography Clinical Educator to join our dynamic team at Waitemata District on a fixed term basis. As a Sonography Clinical Tutor, you will play a vital role in educating and training future sonographers, helping them develop the practical skills and knowledge needed for success in their careers. This role also includes quality control and maintenance of standards among qualified staff and participation in facilitating continued professional development within the department. Key Responsibilities Co‑coordinate the training programme for sonography in partnership with Auckland University or other training institution. Provide guidance and instruction to students in general, obstetric, gynaecologic, paediatric and vascular sonography. Assess and evaluate students' clinical skills and performance, give feedback, help set goals throughout their training, in alignment with university or other institutional requirements. Ensure students are exposed to appropriate examinations to gain the required numbers for their logbooks and are adequately supported and prepared with the practical skills to pass the Auckland University PGDip qualification. Provide students with exposure to image interpretation sessions throughout their training. Facilitate quality control and maintain standards within the ultrasound department. Arrange teaching sessions for both trainees and qualified sonographers for continuing education. Qualifications & Experience Required Registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board and a current practising license. Post‑graduate diploma in Medical Ultrasound or recognised equivalent. Enrolled in a recognised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme. Competent in all aspects of general ultrasound including obstetrics, abdominal and small parts. Previous experience as a Clinical Educator or supervisor. Working at Health NewZealand.
