You’re a quiet hero behind the scenes — keeping our village fresh, homely, and dignified for the people who live here. We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Summerset at Wigram village team for a fixed term period. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home. As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members. Your Day-to-day Activities Will Include Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs This is a full time fixed term role from July 2026 - July 2027, working 32 hrs per week. The shift pattern for this role is Tuesday - Thursday 7:30am - 4pm, Friday 7am - 2:30pm. Qualifications You have experience in housekeeping ideally in healthcare or hospitality Take pride in your work and care about the small details Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet Have a genuine interest in aged care (no experience necessary — full training provided) At Summerset, we believe diversity strengthens our team and enriches the care we provide.
