Network Architect

An exciting opportunity to join the Global Architecture team in Wellington, supporting network architecture across the APAC region. This role is ideal for a Senior Network Engineer ready to step into their first architecture role, while still staying close to the technology and delivery.

This is a hands-on, development-focused role designed for someone who wants to grow into architecture over time, rather than transitioning to a fully developed architect position from day one.

• Support the development of network architecture, standards and design patterns
\n
• Work alongside engineering teams to design and implement network solutions
\n
• Contribute to design discussions and architecture reviews
\n
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand and shape requirements
\n
• Explore new technologies and support their introduction into the environment
\n
• Help drive improvements in automation, monitoring and resilience
\n

• Solid experience in a Network Engineer / Senior Network Engineer role
\n
• Strong understanding of network design fundamentals across on-prem and/or cloud
\n
• Keen interest in moving into architecture and developing in this space
\n
• Comfortable working both hands-on and at a design level
\n
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
\n
• Technical exposure to Routing (BGP, OSPF) and general network design
\n
• Cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
\n
• Network security fundamentals
\n
• Automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible) – nice to have
\n
