About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse with a positive attitude to support the current Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) workforce as the Clinical Nurse Manager. The Clinical Nurse Manager role is responsible for providing advanced professional leadership and management to the nursing workforce in the MHSOP Inpatient Unit. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated leader to inspire and guide a committed team, while driving positive clinical outcomes and improving patient care. About the Service / Location This role is based within the Mental Health Services for Older People team at Tauranga Hospital. The successful applicant will lead our team of Registered/Enrolled Nurses to deliver high‑quality care to Tangata Whai Ora who are experiencing significant distress due to living with dementia or have an acute mental health problem. Tangata Whai Ora, who we provide assessments for, have their own journey of life experiences. They are professionals, whānau and community members who are now presenting with acute mental health conditions and/or dementia ranging from early onset to severe. Tangata Whai Ora require a caring and compassionate health team to assist in providing assessment and treatment for conditions such as dementia with behavioural and psychological conditions and palliative dementia care. About You You will have a wide scope of knowledge, skills, and experience that you will bring to this role. While previous Senior Nurse experience is preferred, what we seek is someone with passion, energy, and behaviour consistent with our values. Current NZNC registration and Annual Practicing Certificate. Significant experience in Mental Health, preferably with Older People. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to support patients, whānau, and staff, while building strong relationships with stakeholders. Passionate about leveraging team strengths to foster collaboration, resilience, and excellence in care.
