Job Description
Overview The Emergency Department team at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), part of the Department of Health Tasmania, delivers urgent and life‑saving care. Skilled physicians, nurses, paramedics and support staff work collaboratively to assess, stabilise and treat patients with acute conditions, ensuring timely escalation to higher levels of care. Role Provide expert, patient‑centred nursing care in a high‑pressure Emergency Department setting. Deliver advanced clinical care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac and paediatric emergencies. Safely manage deteriorating patients with prompt interventions. Collaborate with the care team for comprehensive critical care management. Manage multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic and unpredictable environment. Qualifications Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). The 12% superannuation contribution is added to this amount. Salary range is based on the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to Grade 4 salary range ($102,439–$109,175) is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. Additional allowances may include a Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary packaging: benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year.
