Job Description
The North West Maternity Services (NWMS) is primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital, with satellite and community‑based services delivered across Mersey Community Hospital, King Island District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and West Coast District Hospital. Our service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services, a 4‑bed birthing suite, 20‑bed inpatient ward, 8‑bed special care nursery and extended care midwifery services for women when they discharge home after birth. We also offer women dedicated lactation services as well as connections through our allied health colleagues for social work, women’s health physio and diabetes services and perinatal mental health. About the Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife for a permanent role in NWMS. Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality nursing or midwifery care to patients and families Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Participate in quality improvement initiatives What We're Looking For Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in shift patterns Commitment to patient‑centred care Flexibility to adapt to changing healthcare environments Details of Appointment Multiple permanent, full‑time and part‑time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you join us. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439–$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
