Administration Officer – Administration Whangarei, Northland – Permanent, Part-time. About the role We are seeking a friendly and organised Administration Officer to join our Northland laboratory team on a permanent part‑time basis. This varied and rewarding role within our Administration Department supports the smooth running of the laboratory. Responsibilities include ensuring patient and test information is accurately recorded, responding to telephone enquiries, assisting with local courier runs when required, and carrying out general administrative duties as needed. Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy, fast‑paced environment are essential. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) with a high level of attention to detail Respond to telephone enquiries in a professional and timely manner Monitor and manage incoming emails Assist with occasional courier runs as required Create patient lists and support the coordination of the home visit service Maintain accurate records and contribute to the delivery of efficient, high‑quality laboratory services About you To be successful in this role you need to have: A motivated and reliable individual with strong attention to detail and a professional attitude Excellent communication skills, including a confident telephone manner Strong computer skills and ability to work accurately in structured systems Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment Able to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality Flexible, positive and adaptable with a willingness to support continuous improvement Experience in medical or laboratory administration and knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage but not essential Eligibility to work in New Zealand What’s in it for you Our core values guide us in creating an inclusive and respected workplace where everyone can thrive and make a difference.
