Job Description

Prosecutor – Taumaranui Police Station Permanent – Full Time – NewZealand Police NewZealand Police is inviting applications for a Prosecutor based at Taumaranui Police Station. The role also includes coverage of the Ohakune and Taihape Courts. Key Accountabilities Communicate effectively with staff, partners and the community. Make sound decisions and respond under pressure in face‑to‑face settings. Analyse complex information accurately with a sound understanding of prosecution and court processes. Be individually responsible and accountable for performance and development. Demonstrate understanding of a Prosecutor’s purpose within Police and support the outcomes NZ Police aims to deliver. Seek opportunities to develop own skills, knowledge and experience through self‑leadership. What you’ll bring Knowledge, skills and experience relevant to prosecution. A state of mind aligned with NZ Police values and the ability to contribute to high‑performing teams. Ability to lead yourself and, where appropriate, others. Special Requirements If you are a Police Employee, you must hold an LLB degree, obtain a practising certificate and provide evidence of qualification eligibility. If you are a former sworn employee, you may apply as a non‑sworn employee if you can provide evidence of prosecution experience within a court environment. Applicants must reside within commutable distance to Taumaranui and will undergo full reference and vetting checks before any offer is made. Salary This position is covered by a collective agreement and will commence between $91,844 and $116,129, depending on skills and experience.
