Commercial Analyst Retail - Leisure & Tourism South Auckland $120,000 Role Looking to combine your commercial and analytical skills with a business that sells products people genuinely enjoy? This renowned multi-site retailer operates nationally within the tourism sector and continues to invest in its people, product offerings, and long-term growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded pricing analyst to take ownership of pricing strategy, margin optimisation and category performance across a diverse retail product portfolio. Using sales data, pricing trends and commercial insights, you'll identify opportunities to improve profitability, optimise pricing structures and support strategic business decisions. Working closely with suppliers and key internal stakeholders, you'll monitor category performance, analyse competitor activity and use data to influence pricing, promotional activity and commercial outcomes. This is far more than a reporting role, as you'll play a key part in driving margin growth and ensuring the business continues to maximise commercial performance across its retail categories. You This role requires an analytical and commercially driven individual who enjoys turning data into profitable business decisions. Previous experience in Pricing, Commercial Analysis, Retail Category Management or Merchandise Planning within a retail environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of sales, pricing and margin data. Experience identifying opportunities to improve gross margin and commercial performance. Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing strategy and promotional effectiveness. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with retail systems and data. Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and influence commercial decisions. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, inquisitive approach with a passion for using data to drive better business outcomes.
