OceanaGold is listed on the Toronto and New York Stock Exchanges (TSX: OGC; NYSE: OGC). Job Overview Our Macraes underground mining department is searching for an experienced Auto Electrician. Whether you’re new to the mining sector or keen to further your experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with New Zealand’s largest gold mine. This role will involve servicing, diagnosing and undertaking electrical repairs on a wide variety of underground earthmoving equipment, both underground and in our above‑surface workshop. Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off, 6:30am/pm to 6:30pm/am roster. Responsibilities Ensure that all underground equipment is mechanically and electronically maintained in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines Work at both surface-level and underground to maintain and service vehicles As directed by the Auto Electrical specialist, maintain automation gear (e.g. remote services), complete general electrical repairs, and electrical services as required Complete mechanical requirements as required Ensure that the necessary lock out procedures are in place before commencing work on a piece of equipment Ensure all the necessary pre‑start service and repair documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner Qualifications Appropriate trade qualification with ideally 5 years practical experience in your field 3‑5 years’ experience in a heavy machinery or mining environment is preferred Full, Manual Drivers Licence required Current NZ working rights / NZ Visa required for this role Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining quality is essential Benefits Residential role: live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ Competitive salary and bonus structure Discounts on retail and services Free Southern Cross Healthcare Insurance Monthly health and wellbeing allowance Living Our Values recognition program Onsite physiotherapist and nurses suite Free transport to work Study assistance Access to OceanaGold Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Exceptional working environment where people are valued and respected EEO Statement OceanaGold is committed to providing equal employment opportunities.
