Role Overview The Northern Heart Centre is seeking a Cardiologist to join the team in a permanent role, providing leadership across specialist services. The role reports through the Clinical Director and will provide high‑quality specialist cardiology services across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural settings at Launceston General Hospital. Responsibilities Deliver a comprehensive cardiology assessment, diagnosis, and management for admitted and referred patients. Perform and interpret a broad range of cardiac investigations and interventional procedures within scope of practice. Contribute to after‑hours on‑call rosters and acute cardiac response. Provide clinical supervision and education to junior medical staff, registrars, and students. Eligibility Hold specialist registration. Or be a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate on the specialist pathway. Or be an IM‑G with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and assessed to have sufficient experience. Hold a current driver’s licence. Salary & Benefits Competitive remuneration package in line with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025, including: $222,789 – $319,701 per annum, pro rata. 12% superannuation. Salary range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 9 starts at $500,000 per annum, with potential for higher earnings per the Specialist Medical Practitioner Award (Tasmania) 2025. Provision of a fully maintained private vehicle or a motor‑vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata. Continuing Professional Development allowance of $17,483 per annum, pro rata. Relocation and commencement support up to $15,000. Management allowance up to 10%. Participation in Private Practice Scheme or a 35% in‑lodge allowance if not admitted to PPS. Salary packaging options including living expenses up to $9,010 and meals/entertainment up to $2,650 per year. Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport access to fitness facilities at $14.50 per week per person (or $28.05 per family). Position Details Permanent, full‑time dayworker position with an on‑call component, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are available.
