About the role Two positions are available for a 6‑month fixed‑term role with the Central Maintenance Group (CMG) team at our Glenbrook site in New Zealand. You will be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for the repair and maintenance of operational plant and equipment across our large‑scale steel manufacturing site. Reporting to the CMG Team Leader, you will carry out hands‑on maintenance work including fitting, welding, fabrication, breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, restoration to operation, breakdown response and practical improvements that enhance plant reliability and performance. Responsibilities Repair and maintain heavy industrial equipment across the site. Conduct fitting, welding, fabrication and breakdown repairs. Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose faults. Respond to breakdowns and contribute to practical improvements. About you New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Trade) Level 4 or an equivalent verified trade qualification. Experience in welding and fitting within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining or similar environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with problem‑solving skills. Capability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Commitment to safety, reliability and quality workmanship. Solid attendance record and strong work ethic. Practical “can‑do” attitude with attention to detail. Legal right to work in New Zealand; visa sponsorship is not available. What we can offer On‑site medical centre. Free parking.
