Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team based at our plant in Green Island. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Site Engineering Manager. As a key member of the engineering team, you will play an essential role in ensuring our plant and mechanical equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements. This position involves rotating day and afternoon shifts, with occasional weekend work as required. Key Responsibilities Maintain and repair on-site mechanical systems and production equipment. Build, install, and commission plant and machinery. Perform stainless steel welding to food processing standards. Maintain hydraulic systems. Carry out machining work (experience is advantageous). Install and maintain water pipework and valve systems. Install and maintain compressed air systems. Monitor the ongoing performance and reliability of mechanical equipment. Identify and report issues that could impact site safety, production, or product quality. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures. Maintain mechanical systems to ensure the plant operates efficiently and complies with all relevant food safety and regulatory standards. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A recognised trade qualification in Maintenance Engineering or a related mechanical trade. PLC experience would be advantageous but not essential. (or similar) Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food processing industry. Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair skills on industrial machinery. A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement. An interest in working with modern manufacturing technology and automated systems. Electrical experience (desirable but not essential). Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business and manage contractors on site. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
